Wiki Safety

Ever since my last post (http://brianlynchblog.blogspot.com/2009/02/blog-safety.html), I cannot stop thinking about about how crucial and necessary it is to be careful when using blogs and wikis with students (or anywhere for that matter).

I've only briefly reviewed the link that Priscilla Norton sent us in an e-mail (http://cybersmartcurriculum.org/), but perhaps this site will shed a little more light on the subject for me. I'd fear that students might engage in cyberbullying, and ruin the fun for everyone else in class.

What could I do to prevent this from happening?

Blog Safety

I've been doing a little research on how careful you need to be when blogging.  It's amazing what can happen if you're not.  I know the same rule applies to Twitter, Facebook, e-mail, etc., but for some reason, I haven't really thought about it until now.  It's a tough thing to fathom, that there are internet predators online 24/7, 365.  Here we have these amazing modern conveniences, but can't feel 100% safe and secure while using them.  How many of you have fallen prey to an online hacker?
